Being the first of its kind, it was hard to know what to expect going into Stormzy’s ‘This Is What We Mean’ Day. But in the end, the work spoke for itself. A true celebration of the growing talent within Black music, this festival was one to remember.
VENNA: THE MODERN RENAISSANCE OF UK JAZZ
Recently, we had the pleasure of attending the debut show of Venna, a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, in May. Venna has made a name for himself in the music world through his contributions to various projects, such as his saxophone runs on Wizkid's 'Made In Lagos,' his collaboration with Yussef Dayes, his production work for Knucks, and his performance on NSG's 'Lupita.' With back-to-back sold-out shows at The Lower Third in central London, fans flocked to the 200-capacity venue for an intimate night of jazz.
